Community Work and Partnerships

An offender is given an opportunity to make a positive contribution to society when the court places a community work condition on their order.

Participants in the program can be assigned many jobs; including parks and ground maintenance, graffiti removal, distribution of food and clothing and more.

Corrections Victoria recruits professionals to oversee and coordinate the community work program. Roles include community work officers, supervisors and managers.

Responsibilities include:

❂ Supervision of community work

❂ Connecting offenders to employment, training and education

❂ Building valuable local partnerships with councils, businesses and not-for-profits that promote rehabilitation and community reintegration of offenders.
