Our role in the community

Corrections Victoria is a business unit of the Department of Justice and Regulation. We’re in charge of prisons and developing programs that supervise and help rehabilitate offenders in the community.

Our main purpose is making sure we deliver a corrections system that keeps our community safe. Our core focus is the rehabilitation of prisoners, and building strategies to break the cycle of their offending and tackle the underlying causes of crime.

We call on the expertise and skills of many people to do this, from clinicians (External link) and case managers (External link) to prison officers (External link) and parole officers (External link). People in these roles, and a lot of other support jobs that keep our wheels turning, all contribute to making this state a safer place to live.

If you're looking for a job that will change lives for the better, then you should consider working for Corrections Victoria.
